Natural History MuseumMobile Museum ProgramThe Maxwell H. Gluck Foundation and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLA) have partnered for more than twenty-five years to bring one-of-a-kind science learning to more than six hundred thousand students in the Los Angeles Unified School District and community participants in the Greater Los Angeles area. The program includes the Museum's two signature Mobile Museum education trailers: "An Archeology Experience" and the award-winning "An Ocean Experience". The goal of this mobile program is to capture and cultivate student interest in archaeology and marine research. Through hands-on experiences in immersive environments, the Mobile Museums program brings science to life by engaging students in the work of real scientists: studying museum specimens, asking questions, collecting data, and sharing discoveries. This comprehensive program includes teacher professional development and curriculum materials for each school visited. Curriculum materials are also available for all teachers and the general public via the museum website. |
