The Juilliard SchoolGluck Community Service Fellowship ProgramThe Gluck Community Service Fellowship provides Juilliard students with the opportunity to perform for and interact with the residents of hospitals, hospices, and similar institutions in the New York metropolitan area. Each Fellow performs regularly throughout the year at participating health care facilities. Gluck Fellows present more than 450 performances annually in some 50 health care facilities throughout New York City’s five boroughs. In hospital rooms and performance halls, Fellows reach audiences ranging from small children to the elderly. Gluck Community Service Fellowships are awarded to students who have displayed a strong interest in sharing their artistry with the community. To be accepted into, and continue in, the program, students must be in good academic standing and participate in annual training workshops. Through their participation in the program, students gain valuable experience as artists and communicators, and enhance the lives of the people for whom they perform. |
